November Recap

LORDDDD..... dreary november! thank god for reading for getting me through it. iff we make it through december we'll be fine!!!!!!!! anyway, pretty good reading month! solid! shall we begin?

The Mara Dyer Trilogy by Michelle Hodkin:

I ate these books UP!!!!! i am - generally - a YA hater but these really sucked me in... probably because not only was the character and relationship development perfect and romantic and sweet and full of depth, but the plot and its twists and turns were pretty intriguing as well! overall, it had its faults, but all while being udeniably enjoyable, 4 stars!

A Gentle Reminder by Bianca Sparacino:

ree

I told you I was going through it this month!! sometimes a book about exactly what you're going through is what a girl needs to get over it. The topics covered in this were precisely what I needed to hear, every page prompted me to pick up my pen and I think that says a lot about a book -- when it's covered in annotations. Was it repetitive? absolutely, but the repetitive nature of it is I think what makes it so impactful, you're almost training your brain into thinking the way you're being told to by hearing it over and over again. All in all, this book helped me when I needed it and i can pretty much guarantee it will help anyone who needs a gentle reminder of their worth in this world. 4 stars

Normal People by Sally Rooney:

ree

YOU KNOW IT'S A GOOD READING MONTH WHEN THE NUMBER OF BOOKS ON THE GOODREADS "ALL TIME FAVORITES" SHELF INCREASES!!!!! i know i know its a crime i only just read this!! i was putting it off because of the whole lack-of-quotation-marks things, but now after reading.......... god.. i would never read another book with quotation marks again if it meant these two could get their happy ending. Sally Rooney has absolutely mastered the art of tearing my heart apart at the seams; how can you craft two people who are such perfect halved of a whole and then make them not work?????? its beautifully tragic and real and devastating in the most enrapturing way, EASY 5 stars. the easiest 5 stars ive given in a while
