Updated: Nov 17, 2022

I KNOW THIS IS REALLY LATE IT'S MID NOVEMBER BUT CUT A GIRL SOME SLACK ITS COLLEGE APPS SEASON!!! but speaking of college apps they're all in and i'm HOPEFULLY OFFICIALLY FINALLY back to reading. so on that note, let's look at what I read in October!

Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman:

GIRLLLL THIS WAS GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!! coming from a certified fan girl of 17 years.. i can say that this is all i've ever wanted and more. the genre of fangirls falling in love with celebrities was never something I was down for -- it always felt so cringe and forced -- but THIS.. y'all... this was not cringe. it was so good and you KNOW I LOVE A NOVEL WITH TWO DIFFERENT TIME FRAMES. AND THIS MAN WAS SO HOT. the development of characters was surprisingly good for a book i expected to be extremely cheesy, and i really really enjoyed my time reading. STARTING THE MONTH OFF WITH A BEAUTIFUL 4.5 STARS

The Cheat Sheat by Sarah Adams:

I really hate YA romance like I really hate it. this book was so painfully average. WE GET IT MAN YOU'RE RICH! AND GIRL IF YOU DONT JUST ACCEPT HIS DAMN MONEY LIKE HES LOADED ITS FINE. three stars... two cornballs. had so much potential.

Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino:

this however, was one of the best things i've ever read. i've never felt smarter or more understood than while reading these essays; they were powerful and impactful and so real. there were some things i didn't agree with, but thats to be expected. This essay collection touched on almost everything i've ever been interested in, and the topics i wasn't familiar with you can safely assume i'm interested in now. From social media to ecstasy to feminism to anti-conservatism: it has it all really. Truly just an amazingly insightful read, i can't recommend enough. five. mfing. stars.

The Highest Bidder Series by Lauren

Landish and Willow Winters:

i don't wanna talk about it. were just gonna move past this one. in order, i gave them 3 stars, then 2, then 1, then 2 again. now we move on.....

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey:

now THIS was phenomenal. i really dont know why ive been putting this one off and now after reading i really dont know what i was thinking. piper is so cute and brendan..... GOPD THE MOYTH ON THAT MAN... their love story was so cute, although it did feel a little insta-love for me. it was like they hated eachother for a day then he was calling her baby but idc because i guess im a sucker for fishermen?? something i didn't know before but hey. super cute, super hot, loved it. 4.5
